Sarah Vollett

Assistant Director

.

Sarah Vollett has been a performer with the Broadway Chorus since 2008, a choreographer since 2014, and Assistant Director since 2015. Favourite performer roles with the Chorus include a jingle lady, the wife of an evangelical preacher, the leader of a 1980s girl gang (in Hell), and Bernie the not-so-competent stagehand. Favourite choreography moments include And They're Off (horse racing!), Mrs Cladwell (clipboards!), and Heart and Music (William Finn!)

Sarah's musical theatre journey started at age 11, when she performed with Modern Baroque Opera's The Child, the Book and the Broomstick. She was hooked, and hasn't looked back since. Finding the Broadway Chorus was like finding a second family, and she's so grateful to have an opportunity to give back to this group that has given so much to her.

Sarah is infinitely grateful to Ashley, Ben and the cast for their continued trust in her leadership and for giving her the opportunity to live out her creative dreams. A huge thank you to everyone who took on extra work this term (RK, Kate, Natasha and Lauren) so she could go on maternity leave, and an even bigger thank you to Sara for coming out of retirement as babysitter extraordinaire so she could come back. Much love to James as they try to figure out how to collectively navigate show week with a newborn!
