Long before Broadway's Hadestown, this was a popular subject for Opera and Operetta. My favourite version is from 1607 by Monteverdi, and my favourite song is the first one, essentially a prologue sung by La Musica.

We're excited about show 41, where we take on the classic mytho of Orpheus and Eurydice myth. You know the one: he goes to Hell to fetch her back, but looks at her and loses her? That one.

So, sort of like Hadestown, but this time with characters that have motivations, plots that are compelling, and an ending that makes sense! You have my word for it. Plus, it's set in that part of Hell where everyone's tortured with 80s medleys, so we've got that going for us.
